ABOUT B26
B26 Art From Latin America is an independent curatorial practice based in Berlin that develops exhibitions, publications, research, lectures, and long-term partnerships with international institutions, collections, and cultural organizations, advancing the visibility and understanding of Latin American art.
Founded in Berlin in 2005 by curator and writer Claudia Zea-Schmidt, B26 has spent more than two decades fostering cultural exchange between Latin America and Europe. Its origins in journalism and publishing continue to shape its approach today: research-driven, attentive to context, and grounded in dialogue across cultures and institutions.
What began as the bilingual editorial platform B26 Europa–Lateinamerika has evolved into an international network of curatorial, editorial, and institutional collaborations.

CLAUDIA ZEA-SCHMIDT
Founder & Director
Claudia Zea-Schmidt is a Berlin-based curator and writer specializing in Latin American art. Her work brings Latin American artistic perspectives into international cultural and institutional contexts through curatorial projects, research, and writing.
Originally trained in Communication Studies in Bogotá, she worked for several years as an international journalist in Berlin, including for Deutsche Welle and Radio Nacional de España, before expanding her practice into curating and cultural management. She continued her studies at Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and Sotheby’s Institute of Art, with a focus on curating, cultural management, and the art market.
Her practice brings together journalism, research, and curatorial work, combining close attention to context with a cross-cultural perspective.

ELVA OLAFSDOTTIR
Web Design & Digital Management
Elva Olafsdottir is a Berlin-based digital designer specialising in web design, UX/UI, visual communication and digital production. As a collaborator with B26, she works on the practice’s digital presence, including web design, content management and the online presentation of its projects and programmes.
With experience spanning design, branding and web development, she combines creative and technical expertise to build clear, engaging and visually considered digital experiences.
